Our small, close-knit small animal hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Practice Manager to join our team and help us build an exceptional practice culture while ensuring our day-to-day operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities Lead, Develop & Support Our Team

Our people are at the heart of our practice. You will take an active role in creating a workplace where team members feel supported, valued, motivated, and empowered to do their best work.

  • Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard veterinary technicians, assistants, and client service team members in collaboration with the practice owner.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, respectful, and communicative team culture.
  • Create balanced weekly staff schedules that support excellent patient care while considering employee well-being.
  • Address workplace concerns and resolve personnel conflicts fairly, promptly, and professionally.
  • Conduct performance reviews and establish meaningful professional development and career goals.
  • Coordinate continuing education opportunities for team members.
  • Develop structured onboarding and training programs for new employees.
  • Facilitate ongoing cross-training to strengthen teamwork and clinic flexibility.
  • Identify opportunities to improve morale, reduce burnout, and strengthen employee retention.
Partner With the Practice Owner

You will serve as a trusted operational and leadership partner to the practice owner.

We value honest, objective feedback and expect our Practice Manager to recognize operational blind spots, raise concerns constructively, and help ensure that leadership decisions reflect the high standards we strive to maintain for our team, clients, and patients.

Keep the Practice Running Smoothly

You will oversee the administrative and operational systems that keep our hospital organized, efficient, and prepared to provide excellent patient care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Optimize daily appointment schedules and coordinate front-desk workflows.
  • Support smooth client and patient flow throughout the day.
  • Maintain OSHA, safety, cleanliness, and applicable veterinary regulatory standards.
  • Monitor and order medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and retail inventory.
  • Manage staff timecards and PTO requests.
  • Coordinate employee benefit enrollment and assist with benefit-related questions in collaboration with outside vendors.
  • Handle complex client concerns with professionalism, empathy, and sound judgment.
  • Support the hospital’s social media presence, marketing initiatives, and community reputation.
  • Oversee daily end-of-day reconciliation and payment processing.
  • Serve as a liaison with our external bookkeeper or accountant.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and the overall client and employee experience.
What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a confident, compassionate, highly organized leader who can effectively balance the needs of our people, patients, clients, and business.

Ideal Qualifications
  • 2–3+ years of team leadership or human resources experience
    , preferably in a veterinary clinic, medical office, or similar healthcare environment.
  • BS or minimum AAS degree in business management, communications, veterinary technology, or a related field.
  • CVPM certification is a strong plus.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn and confidently navigate practice-management software and technology.
  • Experience with Practice Management Systems and integrated online pharmacy platforms is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence and active listening skills.
