College Intern - Summer - Procurement & Supply Chain

Summary:

The Summer College Internship Program is a 10-week paid internship experience that provides undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to attend development workshops, network, and be part of our company. Our college interns work on meaningful projects, are mentored under their respective managers, and continue to develop throughout the entire summer. Through the internship program, our interns can attend development workshops that are focused on key business concepts.

Interns may work within the skills-based tracks of Business Administration, Information Technology, Actuarial, Human Resources, Analytics & Data, Communications, Finance, Marketing & Sales, Project Management, Clinical Studies, Customer Experience, Digital Operations, and other non-technical and/or technical based degree programs.

• This is a paid 10-week summer internship from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August (up to 40 hours per week).
• Interns may reside in either a technical or non-technical area.
• Development workshops are provided to help with the transition from school to the corporate environment.
• Housing is not provided as part of our program.

• Supporting Request for Proposal/Information (RFP/I) activities, evaluate vendors and spend categories, and leading sourcing initiatives by identifying new competitive suppliers. The candidate will compile and report on supply chain spend analytics and must be willing to learn new tasks daily while developing and refining interpersonal and communication skills.
• Create and deliver a presentation upon completion of the internship.
• Works with a mentor and supports key strategic projects.
• Completes work assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and individual qualifications.
• Performs a mix of technical and/or non-technical tasks that will cover a broad range of business-related projects.
• Creates and delivers presentations at completion of internship.

• Maintain confidentiality and protection of member privacy in accordance with the company policies.
• Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
• Performs other functions as assigned by management.

• Desired Majors/Degree Programs Include:
  Business & Management (i.e. Finance, Actuarial, Accounting, Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, etc.) or similar program(s)
• Preferred (but not required) experience with:
  Ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences and collaborate with employees at all levels of the organization. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while consistently delivering high-quality work. Strong team player with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues. Proven ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
  
  Experience using desktop computer systems in a professional business environment. Demonstrates strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
• High School diploma along with proof of continuous college enrollment (enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program).
• Must be in good academic standing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences and interface with staff at all levels of the company.
