Location: City of Rochester
Construction Representative (Part-Time)
Location:
Rochester, MN (remote not allowed). Salary: $50-55 per hour.
As a part-time Construction Representative, you will assist the local construction services team in ensuring project compliance and effective communication across the build process.
- Monitor construction activities on transportation, civil, and municipal infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with approved plans and specifications.
- Document daily field and inspection activities, including material sampling, testing, and quantity measurements.
- Assist with pre-construction meetings, progress updates, conflict resolution sessions, and prepare and negotiate change orders.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors and internal team members.
- Assist in the development of proposals, estimating project budgets and schedules, and completing constructability reviews.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in the construction field.
- OSHA-10 certification required, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Possession of applicable DOT technical certifications, or ability to obtain within six months.
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and navigate rough terrain on construction sites.
- Willingness to travel for team meetings, client consultations, and on-site observations.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- MVR records check verifying possession of a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets SEH's Driving Program requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with AutoCAD or Micro Station.
- Familiarity with Blue Beam software.
