Summary
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval - award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.

- The VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System is recruiting for a Physician Assistant in our Gastroenterology Clinic for the Rochester VA Clinic

- The Physician Assistant (PA) is fully qualified and certified to function in a clinical role and in accordance with the guidelines and policies of the VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System
- The PA is delegated the authority and responsibility to assume clinical - consultation - education - research - and administrative duties and responsibilities related to the patients and staff of the Gastroenterology Service
- This position works directly for the Gastroenterology Service and his/her duties and responsibilities are at the direction of the Supervising Gastroenterologist
- Duties include - but are not limited to:
Coordinate and facilitate GI endoscopic care working side-by-side with the Gastroenterologists in the endoscopy suite who is performing a variety of endoscopic procedures (including - but not limited to colonoscopy and upper endoscopy) Manage and coordinate tests - labs - imaging - procedure - consultations - and travel documents as needed for the pre and post procedure care of patients - Prepare patient for their endoscopic procedures
- Perform histories and physicals on patients as needed and appropriately document all findings in the electronic medical records
- Act as a liaison between appropriate subspecialty providers - case managers and primary care for patients in need of endoscopic procedures
- Coordinate post-procedure care by acting as a liaison between the appropriate sub- specialty and primary care providers
- Maintain APP licensing and credentialing in good standing
- Manage own GI clinic to see patients Face to Face - Televisits including CVT - VVC and TC - e-consults - prescription refills - test notification letters - national liver dash board chart reviews and chronic liver disease care and management under the guidance and supervision of the attending Gastroenterologists

- tube placement - Fibroscan procedures and interpretations and Infusion center care and drug management
- Admin duties as assigned
- You will be expected to follow the Medical Staff bylaws and will complete all assigned notes - encounters and chart reviews timely
- Pay:
