Job Objective
Reporting to the Assistant Registrar, the Registration Counselor oversees, maintains, and processes registration data records for students. Their primary focus is on Traditional Undergraduate (TUG) students/programs, while also being cross-trained to serve Graduate, Professional, and Seminary (GPS) students/programs. The position works with the Assistant Registrar and Registration Department on special tasks and strategic initiatives, supporting students, faculty, and staff with completing registration processes.
Job Responsibilities- Maintain and process student records.
- Maintain the accuracy of students’ academic plans.
- Stay abreast of regulations related to confidentiality of student records.
- Assist with maintaining the commencement graduates list, designating honors, minors, and certifications.
- Assist the Assistant Registrar with the graduation process for all TUG students.
- Review and input transfer credits / create program check sheets for TUG students.
- Process grade reports for students requiring reimbursement.
- Research and maintain accurate advisor assignments for TUG programs.
- Process forms for TUG students such as deferments, licensing, and enrollment verifications.
- Serve as the primary Registration liaison with students, customers, and faculty via in person, emails and phone calls.
- Generate and provide key TUG instruction, announcements, and communications to all customers.
- Train and assist students with the online registration process.
- Work closely with TUG faculty on registration/advisement forms, including updating incomplete and blank grades.
- Run grade reports, contact faculty, and process grade changes.
- Coordinate with the Honors program to track students, confirm Honors graduation eligibility, and complete other Honors tasks.
- Work with programs and units to generate and update the master class schedule and course catalog.
- Input advisor assignments in SIS.
- Support strategic academic initiatives set by Academic leadership.
- Provide support to events such as Commencement ceremonies in partnership with the Office of Academic Affairs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The approved rate of pay is: $19.50/hr.
RequirementsBachelor’s degree with experience in higher education preferred. Successful candidate will have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, the ability to learn multiple software programs, preferred knowledge of Power Campus or higher education SIS systems, good communication skills, strong multi‑tasking skills, and the ability to work well in diverse communities.
