Making a difference in the lives of young people. Seeking high energy, enthusiastic, and self-motivated individuals to implement Scouting programs and help youth become the leaders of tomorrow. Program Coordinators will be assigned program sites to provide direct instruction to Scouts as they work on the core elements of Scouting. Scouts will develop a sense of good citizenship, character development and learn habits of good mental and physical health, while learning life skills via engaging activities.
EssentialFunctions
Program site duties include but are not limited to:
- Lead meetings using a pre-planned program guide to ensure consistent programming and engagement.
- Creating and maintaining a positive relationship with school officials and Scout’s families.
- Maintaining and submitting weekly attendance and advancement reports to Staff Leader.
- Maintaining a positive, safe, and warm learning environment.
Candidates should be available primarily between 2:30PM – 5:30PM, Monday - Friday. Weekday mornings are available based on site needs. Office hours are also available. Weekend hours are available based on program and camp opportunities.
Staff will be given 1-hour of paid planning time each week in addition to 1.5 hours at each assigned site (program time is 1-hour). Working 4–15 hours is available each week and is dependent upon site availability, leadership needs and office assistance.
Candidates are required to have a reliable mode of transportation.
Programs operate in Ontario, Wayne, Seneca, Yates, and Monroe Counties schools and youth serving organizations.
Rate: Beginning at $16.50 - $18.00 depending on experience.
Required Qualifications- Must be over 18 to apply.
- Live in or driving distance from Ontario, Wayne, Seneca, Yates, and/or Monroe Counties.
- Prior experience working with youth.
- Must be willing to register, complete a Scouting America application online, do in-person trainings and pass a background check.
- Work is performed while standing, sitting, walking and/or running.
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weight.
Summer Contracts will be awarded based on need and your availability.
