EDUCATION:

Minimum:
• Master of Science in Nursing Education or Bachelor degree and actively pursuing Master of Science in Nursing Education with completion within 4 years in the position Preferred:
• Master of Science with a major in Nursing/Education or doctorate in education or nursing LICENSE:
Minimum
• Current unrestricted New York State Registered Nurse licensure PROFESSIONAL

CERTIFICATIONS:

Minimum:
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required through the RQI system during clinical orientation. Preferred:
• Certified Nurse Educator

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Minimum:
• 3 years clinical nursing experience Preferred:
• Prior teaching experience in nursing education med surg., critical care, and/or psch, maternity

SKILLS:

Minimum:
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a complex, multi-entity health system.
• Ability to facilitate project management, work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (written and oral), analytical, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with the public in a professional and courteous manner.
• Computer literacy required with word processing, spreadsheets. Preferred:
• Previous experience with college of nursing accreditation (ACEN, CCNE).
