** Salary Range or Pay Grade*
* $20-$30
** Description*
* ** Teaching & Instruction*
* + Prepares and plans lessons to teach at the Memorial Art Gallery.
+ Designs course materials appropriate to the pace, goals, and skill level of the class.
+ Sets an instructional schedule with goals that align with curriculum plans.
+ Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of the subject matter and medium.
+ Helps students identify their goals for the course.
+ Supports students in meeting those goals through increasing levels of demonstrated skill and creativity.
+ Exposes students to technical processes and terminology needed for further study.
+ Provides students with assistance, guidance, encouragement, and constructive critique.
+ Evaluates student performance as requested.
** Materials & Classroom Preparation*
* · Prepares in advance any materials students will need (e.g., material lists, handouts, audiovisual presentations).
· Makes timely requests to the Creative Workshop Manager for supply needs, gallery visits, copies, or A/V support.
· Manages provided supplies and equipment with proper care.
· Maintains a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the classroom.
· Cleans the workspace after each program according to CW best practices and expectations.
· Encourages students to properly clean their supplies, equipment, and workstations.
** Administrative Responsibilities*
* · Completes and submits attendance records to the office.
· Completes required annual trainings (digital or in‑person).
· Adheres to all University of Rochester and Memorial Art Gallery policies.
Other duties as assigned
** Qualifications*
* + Bachelor's degree in studio art or a related discipline
+ 3-5 years related experience teaching art or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Sucessful completion of a background check
