Position Summary
Must be available to work the entire summer session (July 6 - August 14, 2026). All qualified special education teacher applicants will be contacted to interview for placement in 2026 extended school year classrooms.
Minimum Requirements- NYS Special Education Teacher certification.
- Self‑contained special education classroom teaching experience.
- Meeting or exceeding standards as determined by the Professional Performance Review Process.
- Currently employed as a self‑contained teacher.
- Certification in TCI.
- Experience working with students with multiple disabilities, students with autism, and/or students who demonstrate challenging behaviors.
- Experience conducting Functional Behavioral Assessments and implementing and monitoring Behavior Intervention Plans.
- Experience delivering specially designed instruction to students enrolled in a multi‑grade classroom.
Set‑up day:
June 29, 2026 (attendance required); 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, paid for up to 6 hours at the professional rate ($35) per the GTA contract.
Rate of pay is based upon 1.0 position (32.5 hours per week) or less than 1.0 position (determined by number of hours worked per day and paid at hourly rate based on 1/200th of the GTA contractual annual salary).
Work Schedule and HoursReport times: 8:15 am – 2:45 pm. Daily hours: 6.5. Work year: ESY 2026.
