Job Description

Provide general information about admissions processes, programs, and campus resources. Welcomed visitors and direct them to appropriate offices and appointments. Prepare, sort, and distribute mail and admissions materials. Perform clerical tasks such as shredding, scanning, filing, and document preparation. Support admissions staff with projects as needed. Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with institutional policies.

This position may be funded through Federal Work Study (FWS) and/or departmental budgetary funds, depending on eligibility and departmental need. Federal Work Study applicants must be approved by the Financial Aid Office prior to employment consideration. If you are unsure of your FWS eligibility, please contact Financial Aid before applying. Applicants must include their M# in any correspondence with the Financial Aid Office.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Pack acceptance/inquiry letters in the envelopes then deliver to mail room.
  • Pack welcome folders for new students.
  • Stock and organize marketing materials and giveaways.
  • Assist at the front desk.
  • Clerical duties- shredding, scanning, filing, etc.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and a strong work ethic.
  • Wear the MCC polo shirt and name tag while on duty.
  • Arrive on time for all scheduled shifts.
  • Communicate with your supervisor in advance regarding absences, schedule changes, or time‑off requests.
  • Maintain good standing with MCC's academic and student conduct (judicial) policies.
  • Be currently enrolled and actively attending classes at MCC.
  • Federal Work Study eligibility is required for FWS‑funded positions (must be approved by the Financial Aid Office prior to hire).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Be available to work a minimum of 10 hours per week. Student employees may work up to 20 hours per week.
  • Most work hours will be scheduled Monday through Friday between 8:45 a.m. and 4:45 p.m.
  • Occasional evening and Saturday hours may be available to support special events and Admissions programs.
  • Bilingual and able to read, write, and speak Spanish, or other languages, proficiently.
Additional Information

Pay Rate: $16.00/hour

Hours per Week: Up to 20 hours/week

Semester Hiring: Summer
