Residence Coordinator

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages a university residential community including the selection, training and supervision of undergraduate and graduate students assigned to the residence
  • Provides leadership and guidance for business operation processes such as facilities opening and closing procedures, facilities management, and related areas
  • Develops and implements educational and cultural programs, services, and activities in the residential community, with a focus on the principles of community development, student engagement, wellness, diversity, inclusion, and retention
  • Ensures budgeting, personnel matters, and reporting are managed in accordance with university, state, and federal guidelines, regulations, procedures, and policies
  • Oversees the response to, resolution of, and decision-making for matters of significance such as emergency housing, involvement of other offices, parental contact, etc
  • Meets with students to resolve complex issues, makes referrals, and conducts follow-up as needed in areas including, but not limited to: social skill development, personal safety, conflict resolution, understanding of university policy and procedures, and academic success
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Knowledge of student development theories and practices
  • Knowledge of crisis management/conflict resolution
  • Skill in advising and coaching
  • Skill in using technology and systems to support administrative, operation and program functions
  • Ability to manage and maintain confidential and private information; use confidential, sensitive and/or private records and information, and protect information appropriately
  • Ability to establish, build and maintain effective working relationships based on respect, empathy and honesty with diverse groups and individuals

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Master's degree in related field
  • 1 year of relevant experience

Job Level Overview

Specialized Contributor Level 2 - A fully functional role requiring established knowledge of the profession or field of work. Responsible for completing substantive assignments and projects. Problems are varied and non-routine, and resolution requires exercising judgment, analysis, advisement, creativity, and understanding broader sets of issues. May provide assistance to entry level staff.

  • Our Residence Coordinator roles are full-time, live-in positions that include year-round housing.
  • This posting is for an anticipated opening in Spring/Summer 2026.
