Position OverviewMonroe One BOCES is seeking a highly skilled and collaborative leader to serve as Coordinator of School Improvement Services. This administrative role is responsible for advancing and coordinating services delivery in partnership with component districts to support meaningful, sustainable school improvement.
The Coordinator of School Improvement Services will coordinate the design and implementation of responsive, customized supports aligned with district priorities and the Learning & School Improvement (LSI) continuum of services. This work spans the department's tenets of professional learning, instructional best practices, curriculum and assessment, leadership development, systems implementation and data-informed decision‑making.
The role requires a systems‑oriented mindset and the capacity to guide district leaders and instructional staff in implementing high‑quality, aligned supports and improvement efforts. The ideal candidate brings strong instructional leadership experience, a demonstrated ability to lead adult learners, and the capacity to translate educational priorities into actionable and sustainable systems and processes.
Responsibilities- Coordinate the development, implementation and monitoring of district‑specific scopes of work aligned to LSI priorities and service offerings.
- Partner with component districts to identify needs, define goals and design responsive, high‑impact continuous improvement plans across the continuum of support (Explore, Engage, Implement, Sustain).
- Design and facilitate professional learning experiences for teachers and leaders grounded in adult learning theory and research‑based instructional best practices.
- Source, evaluate, and collaborate with external national and regional educational experts to deliver specialized, top‑tier professional learning opportunities.
- Provide support and leadership in aligning curriculum, instruction, assessment, grading and systems‑level initiatives to promote coherence and sustained improvement.
- Support districts in implementing and refining systems related to NY Inspires, graduation requirements, performance‑based learning and assessment (PBLA), and innovative instructional practices.
- Support districts' efforts in analyzing and interpreting multiple data sources to inform decision‑making, guide strategic planning, and evaluate the impact of initiatives.
- Coordinate and facilitate regional networks, leadership groups, and cross‑district collaboration opportunities.
- Serve as a liaison between districts, BOCES, and state‑level initiatives, including participation in regional and state‑wide professional learning opportunities.
- Promote, market, and expand participation in regional professional learning opportunities.
- Collaborate with instructional specialists and internal/external stakeholders to ensure cohesive, consistent and high‑quality service delivery.
- Manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously, ensuring effective communication, coordination, timeliness, and deliverables.
- Remain current on educational research, state initiatives, and emerging practices.
- Partner with Director for Learning and School Improvement to evaluate regional needs, design comprehensive multi‑year service plans, and perform other duties as assigned.
- New York State Certification as a School District Leader (SDL), School District Administrator (SDA), or equivalent administrative certification required.
- Minimum of two years of experience in an administrative or instructional leadership role required; additional leadership experience preferred.
- Demonstrated success leading initiatives, facilitating change, and/or supporting school or district‑level improvement efforts.
- Experience designing and delivering professional development, with a strong foundation in adult learning theory.
