Job DescriptionThe Youth Services Associate will assist in the creation, development, and enhancement of new and existing programs and special services for the Department of Recreation and Youth Services. The Youth Services Associate works under the general supervision of the Program Development Specialist. Related work is performed as required. Under the NY HELPS Program, the Civil Service Exam for this title has been waived.

LOCATION:
Maplewood Nature Center
- Assists in planning, implementing and hosting special events for the Department of Recreation and Youth Services;
- Researches and develops new programs and curriculum that focus on youth growth and development;
- Facilitates workshop, programs and youth training as requested to program participants as requested;
- Builds relationships with community partners regarding special events and programs;
- Assists with outreach, recruitment and marketing of program and activities;
- Provides training and development;
- Collaborates with other youth serving Bureaus and community organization to make best use of allocated event and program funding;
- Provides monitoring and updates to the Program Development Specialists and Recreation Management team regarding program outputs;
- Attends meetings with the Youth Services Coordinator to provide information related to program funding;
- Provides supervision of part-time staff assigned to program office programs and initiatives.
