** Responsibilities:*
* The University Program Liaison leads the Memorial Art Gallery's (MAG) engagement with the University of Rochester's (UR) community of faculty, staff, undergraduate and graduate students. They are responsible for integrating the assets of MAG into the UR academic community, developing a plan for increasing MAG's relevance to an ever-broader range of UR courses and academic disciplines. Possible initiatives might include working with faculty to identify works of art, exhibitions, installations, events and programs that could impact their curricula;

working with faculty, staff, students and available resources-archives, collections, facilities-to facilitate partnerships and create exhibitions, installations, events and programs of mutual benefit to MAG's audiences and the UR community;. They would be expected to develop and facilitate relationships between MAG and River Campus to inspire creative, innovative collaborations between faculty, staff, students, and the MAG.

The University Program Liaison reports to and supports the Director for Academic Programs at MAG in efforts to set and implement MAG's educational mission. Is responsible for working collaboratively with colleagues in all related MAG and UR departments, and assists in fundraising for academic programs.

The University Program Liaison is an object and content expert with excellent communication skills who has a demonstrated ability to translate complex aesthetic, historical, and philosophical ideas and approaches across disciplines and across academic and non-academic constituencies. They understand and can navigate various academic hierarchies and constituencies, and works towards positive collaborative outcomes for all. The successful University Program Liaison will develop synergies between the MAG and River Campus and will help develop creative, innovative partnerships and projects.

* Essential Functions:

*
* ** Identifies and addresses perceptual and practical barriers preventing student visits to the museum. Collaborates with students and colleagues across departments.*
* + Solicits feedback formally and anecdotally from students, faculty and staff re: the barriers prohibiting students from utilizing the museum as a resource. Develop a greater understanding of these barriers and create a plan for eliminating them to incentivize students visiting the museum during class time or for special programming outside of class time.

** Develop and implement museum programming, including internships, college nights, and other initiatives.*
* + Conceive, design, and organize programs in and out of class time-opportunities for students work alongside and learn from MAG staff for work study and internships, social gatherings at the museum, hands on and object-based learning opportunities that connect to curriculum at MAG and on campus.

** Researches, identifies, organizes, and implements new initiatives for MAG/UR engagement*
* + Conceive a menu of offerings for students that fulfill their learning objectives and enhance student life

** Coordinates efforts with the University infrastructure on existing events.*
* + Form relationships with UR staff and faculty to tie in to the UR events and traditions on campus and offer MAG as a venue for off-site, programs, celebrations, graduations

** Minimum

Education & Experience:

* + Associate's degree and 3 years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support required

+ Bachelor's degree preferred

+ 2 years of relevant experience preferred

+ Or equivalent combination of education and experience

** Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:*
* + Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, File Maker Pro, virtual collaboration tools (Zoom, Box), Adobe, etc. required
