Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: City of Rochester

The Science Teacher cultivates in students a love of truth through the careful study of God's created order. Teaching from a distinctly Christian and classical perspective, the teacher invites students to observe, investigate, and delight in the beauty, complexity, and intelligibility of creation. Whether teaching Earth Science, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or other sciences, the teacher emphasizes careful observation, logical reasoning, mathematical precision, and hands‑on experimentation while helping students recognize that all truth is God's truth.

Instruction encourages wonder, intellectual humility, disciplined inquiry, and faithful stewardship as students develop scientific literacy and learn to think critically about the natural world.

Responsibilities

The science teacher will teach middle school and/or high school science courses—including Earth Science, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and other sciences as assigned—at our growing Christian, covenantal, and classical school. This role involves developing and delivering engaging instruction that integrates a biblical worldview with the study of the natural sciences through lectures, laboratory investigations, demonstrations, field observations, and scientific inquiry. The teacher will foster students' intellectual curiosity, analytical thinking, and appreciation for the order and beauty of God's creation while maintaining a safe and well‑organized laboratory environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate must be a committed Christian who is currently an active member of a local Bible‑believing church and demonstrates a consistent Christian worldview in both teaching and life. Candidates must hold at least a bachelor's degree or possess qualifying employment history that demonstrates readiness for this teaching role. Preferred majors include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, Environmental Science, Engineering, or another scientific discipline, though candidates with other relevant educational backgrounds and a demonstrated love for science and Christian education will also be considered.

Requirements
  • Passionate about teaching and the mission of the school
  • Background in science education or a scientific field
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to safely supervise laboratory activities and experiments
Nice to Have
  • Experience with curriculum development
  • M.S. or higher in a scientific discipline or science education
  • Background in Classical Christian Education
  • Experience teaching multiple science disciplines (Earth Science, Chemistry, Physics, and/or Biology)
