Head Men's and Women's Cross Country Coach
St. John Fisher University is an independent, liberal arts institution that provides a transformative education to approximately 3,800 undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students each year. Across its five Schools, Fisher offers nearly 40 majors in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, business, education, and nursing; 11 pre‑professional programs; and master’s and doctoral programs in business, nursing, education, pharmacy, and public health.

Coaches are expected to adhere to all NCAA, conference, departmental and institutional guidelines and policies. They must demonstrate leadership and professional behavior when dealing with all constituent groups, including and prioritizing student‑athletes, athletics department coaches and staff, and all members of the University community.
Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Coaching & Education- Coordinate practice and competition planning and coaching
- Provide individual and small group coaching sessions
- Participate in community service events
- Leverage Teamworks software to coordinate prospective student‑athlete recruitment
- Work with admissions office and members of the Enrollment Management Division to ensure recruitment of student athletes is consistent and follows institutional best practices
- Conduct on and off‑campus recruitment, including outreach via mailings, phone calls, visits and electronic communications
- Administrative tasks assigned by department
- Oversee academic, moral, ethical and athletic development of the student‑athletes
- Complete yearly NCAA rules test
Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred. Intercollegiate playing experience desired. Collegiate coaching experience preferred.
Key SkillsAbility to demonstrate cross‑country‑related skills and interpersonal skills between students, staff, alumni and friends of the University.
Physical DemandsMust be able to demonstrate men’s and women’s cross‑country‑related techniques. The job entails normal sitting, standing and walking throughout the day.
Supervision of EmployeesCoordinate duties and supervision of part‑time assistant coaches.
EquipmentMust be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and able to learn other sport‑related computer programs.
Job TypePart‑time
Work HoursSchedule varies depending on in‑season or out‑of‑season. Ability to work nights and weekends required.
