*** Responsibilities:
** The Director of Student and Young Alumni Engagement is an integral member of the leadership team in the Office of Alumni Relations and Constituent Engagement. They will work closely with the Executive Director of Student, Young Alumni, and Reunion Programs to develop a vision and strategy for student and young alumni programs. The Director has primary responsibility for the design and implementation of successful student and young alumni programs and volunteer activity for the University’s School of Arts and Sciences and Hajim School of Engineering & Applied Sciences.
They will monitor budgets and progress toward goals, develop program processes and strategies, and report on program status. They will work collaboratively with Alumni Relations and Advancement colleagues in each of the schools/units to coordinate and communicate activities. In addition, they will serve as a consultant and advisor to other student and young alumni-focused staff throughout the University.
The Director will oversee a staff of three who, as a team, will manage all aspects of the aforementioned. Travel may be required for this role.
** ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
**** Student Engagement Oversight and Management
*** In consultation with the Executive Director, create a strategic direction for student engagement. Set clear measurements, evaluate results, and make recommendations for improvement. (10%)
* Manage and supervise staff to deliver a broad range of successful student volunteer programs, including the Student Alumni Ambassadors (SAAs), Class Councils, and Meliora Weekend student volunteers. (10%)
** Student Engagement Program Development and Volunteer Pipeline Management
*** In partnership with staff, organize and execute programs and events, including the Coffee or Tea with the B.O.T. series and URochester Traditions events, to engage the student body and reinforce lifelong connection to the University and alumni community. (10%)
* Coordinate with school and unit Advancement partners to enhance their student programming and communications by sharing resources and opportunities for inclusion. (5%)
* Identify and transition student volunteers into alumni volunteer roles following graduation. (5%)
** Young Alumni Engagement Oversight and Management
*** In consultation with the Executive Director, create a strategic direction for young alumni engagement, set clear measurements, evaluate results, and make recommendations for improvement. (10%)
* Manage and supervise staff to deliver a broad range of successful young alumni programs and volunteer opportunities, including seven Young Alumni Councils and the Young Alumni Opportunity Fund. Directly manage the Metro New York City and Boston Young Alumni Councils by recruiting, onboarding, and managing volunteers and overseeing the planning, marketing, and execution of volunteer-led programming. (15%)
