The Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) teacher provides specially designed instruction within the general education classroom to support students with disabilities in accessing grade-level curriculum. Partnering closely with the general education teacher, the ICT teacher co-plans, co-instructs, and co-assesses to deliver differentiated, inclusive, and standards-aligned learning experiences. This role includes monitoring IEP goals, implementing accommodations and modifications, using data to guide instruction, and fostering a supportive, collaborative classroom environment that meets the academic and social-emotional needs of all learners at the middle school level.
Performance Responsibilities
The Teacher shall:
Instruction & Curriculum
* Plan and deliver standards-based instruction aligned with district curriculum
* Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
* Use a variety of instructional strategies to actively engage students
* Integrate technology and instructional resources effectively
Assessment & Data
* Design and implement formative and summative assessments
* Analyze student data to inform instruction and improve outcomes
* Provide timely, constructive feedback to students and families
Classroom Environment
* Establish and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom climate
* Promote positive student behavior and social-emotional growth
* Implement district-approved behavior and safety procedures
Collaboration & Communication
* Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), grade-level, or department meetings
* Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
* Collaborate with support staff, specialists, and administrators
Professional Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate records as required by district and state guidelines
* Participate in professional development activities
* Comply with district policies, procedures, and contractual obligations
* Perform other duties as assigned by administration
Terms of Employment
* Salary, teaching schedule, and benefits in accordance with the EITA contract
* Appointment subject to Board of Education approval
Evaluation
Performance will be evaluated in accordance with district procedures, New York State regulations, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.
