Role Overview

This position involves teaching high school history with a focus on developing students into self-guided learners and global citizens. The teacher will deliver curriculum on World, US History, American Government, and Economics, emphasizing textual analysis, discourse, and college readiness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruction:
    Facilitate student-led discussions, analyze primary and secondary sources, and create an inclusive environment that encourages evidence-based opinions. Collaborate with the department to set academic goals.
  • Data Analysis:
    Regularly review student work and assessments with leadership to inform instruction and differentiate for diverse learners.
  • School Culture:
    Build positive relationships, partner with families, engage in professional development, and contribute to a supportive school community.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Commitment to supporting students' social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Experience or interest in impacting students in urban settings (1-2 years preferred).
  • Academic background in Education, History, or related fields; bachelor's degree required.
  • Enrolled in a teacher preparation program if not certified; ability to obtain state certification is necessary.
  • Self-directed learner with strong collaboration and feedback-seeking skills.
Compensation & Benefits
