- Teach Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Sciences with a focus on inquiry-based learning and student discourse.
- Develop students' skills in questioning, data analysis, explanation, argumentation, and conducting labs.
- Create a classroom environment that encourages student voice and engagement in scientific inquiry.
- Facilitate student-led discussions, projects, and lab activities to promote critical thinking.
- Collaborate with the Science department to set academic and engagement goals.
- Analyze student work and assessments to inform instruction and differentiate learning strategies.
- Build positive relationships with students and families, and participate in professional development and team meetings.
Responsibilities
- Teach Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Environmental Sciences with a focus on inquiry-based learning and student discourse.

- Create a classroom environment that encourages student voice and engagement in scientific inquiry.

- Collaborate with the Science department to set academic and engagement goals.

- Build positive relationships with students and families, and participate in professional development and team meetings.
- Commitment to supporting students' social, emotional, and academic growth.
- Experience or interest in impacting K-12 students in urban settings (1-2 years preferred).
- Strong content knowledge in STEM fields.
- Enrolled in a teacher preparation program with eligibility to meet NY certification requirements.
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and receptive to feedback.
- Compensation ranges from $52,000 to $68,000.
