Job Responsibilities

RIT's Department of Electrical and Microelectronic Engineering invites applications for a non-tenure track position as a lecturer to teach courses in Electrical Engineering curriculum such as circuits, electronics (both digital and analog), digital systems, microcomputers, linear systems, semiconductors, and programming. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field. Exceptional candidates with a master's degree and significant industrial experience will also be considered.

Successful candidates must have demonstrated potential for high-quality teaching and a willingness to implement innovative teaching methodologies. Other responsibilities include advising and mentoring students, supervising co‑curricular activities, developing courses and lab modules, participating in or leading K‑12 and industry outreach, and managing lab facilities. Candidates with previous college‑level teaching experience may be considered for a senior lecturer position or receive credit toward fulfilling the requirements for promotion to senior lecturer.

Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Electrical Engineering or closely related field. Exceptional candidates with master's degrees and extensive industry experience will be considered.
  • Ability and commitment to effectively teach and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Interest in working in a collaborative, collegial environment.
  • Prior course or lab (Teaching Assistant) teaching experience in electrical engineering related fields.
