Job DescriptionRochester Academy Charter School (RACS) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Science Teacher in our High School building for the school year.
Responsibilities include
- Passion for science
- Desire to lead and mentor students at the high school level
- Refine and create curriculum to meet the needs of your students
- Opportunities to lead school wide activities
Ideal candidates will possess New York State certification for Science grades 7-12th. Candidates with out-of-state certification will be considered. Experience is preferred but not required. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Education or have completed a teacher certification program.
Rochester Academy Charter School (RACS) is a public charter school, primarily serving students from the city of Rochester. Over 90% of our students identify as an individual of color. We are a college preparatory school and use data to determine how best to foster student growth. RACS seeks to prepare all graduates for active citizenship.

We are seeking teachers who are self-directed, committed and independent. RACS teachers are team players who work collaboratively, including when planning curriculum. Candidates should know or be ready to learn responsive lesson planning practices.

Starting salary for NYS certified candidates with no experience is $55,000 with additional pay for past experience and Master's Degree.
