Project Engineer, Electrical

Join to apply for the Project Engineer, Electrical role at Popli Design Group (PDG). PDG is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Project Engineer to add to our growing and talented team.

• Design complete building electrical systems for both new and renovated buildings, including power, lighting, fire alarm and other special systems.
• Assigns tasks to, coordinates work of and reviews work of entry-level and junior engineers, designers and technicians.
• Assist in developing schedule and workload requirements for entry-level and junior engineers, designers and technicians.
• Edits specifications from standard libraries.
• Receive general review of all aspects of work.

• Advanced working knowledge of electrical circuit theory and design.
• Advanced understanding of building power distribution.
• Advanced understanding of computer network systems and associated communications infrastructure within buildings.
• Advanced understanding of signals / controls.
• Proficient technical report writing ability with fluency in English.
• Computer skills:
  Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), CAD proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT.
• Familiarity and knowledge of the National Electrical Code (N.E.C. / NFPA 70).
• Ability to learn new skills to adapt to non-routine problems.
• Knowledge / experience with lighting technologies for buildings.

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Electrical Engineering from an ABET Accredited program.
• Successful Completion of the Professional Engineering (PE) requirements in New York State, or within one year of obtaining such with a prior EIT.
• NYS Driver’s License.
• Six (6) years of experience in design of building electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm and special systems.

• Travel between Syracuse, Rochester, Binghamton and Buffalo offices, and to project sites will be required on occasion.
• Interact with clients and assist with communication and contracts regarding clients.

• The job requires prolonged periods of sitting at a computer.
• Travel within NY State.

Good faith salary range is provided, and salary will be commensurate with experience. Salary: $85,000 - $125,000.
