Specialist, Electrical Engineer; Digital Design

Overview

Work Schedule: 9/80 (80 hours in 9 working days; every other Friday off)

The Specialist, Electrical Engineer (Digital Design) will focus on Digital Electrical Engineering including digital design and analysis, supporting Multi-Channel Radio Products in the Tactical Communications business. The engineer will support electrical products from concept/design through production and fielding, including architecture evaluation, troubleshooting, documentation, obsolescence mitigation, component evaluation, testing, and prototype bring-up.

This role offers strong mentorship and guidance from experienced engineers, supporting continuous learning of digital engineering best practices through hands-on lab work and theory.

• Evaluate architecture, design, and analysis of digital electrical circuits to meet required output parameters and specifications
• Create and execute test plans for digital electronic circuits
• Provide troubleshooting guidance and hands-on support for malfunctioning circuits
• Create engineering documentation such as:
  • Mod instructions
  • Interface documents
  • Engineering support documentation
• Identify and evaluate new electrical components/circuits for:
  • obsolescence
  • critical shortages
  • trouble reports
  • testing and initial bring-up of prototypes
  • capability enhancements for existing/future products
• Perform:
  • circuit simulation
  • schematic capture
  • detailed circuit-level design verification testing
  • configuration management
• Participate in continuous mentorship and development in digital engineering practices

• Bachelor's Degree + 4 years of related experience OR
• Graduate Degree + 2 years related experience OR
• In lieu of degree: 8 years of digital design related experience

• Strong digital electrical engineering experience
• Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
• Experience with:
  • system-level design
  • requirements definition
  • analysis, integration
  • risk mitigation
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with customers
• Strong problem solving, technical judgement, and ability to handle multiple tasks in fast-paced environments
• Comfortable working in lab using electrical test and soldering equipment for extended durations

• Work involves moving around office throughout the day (walking, bending, reaching)
• Occasionally lifting up to 15 lbs
• Operating office equipment (headsets, conference tools, printers, etc.)
• Ability to work in company lab space for several hours using electrical test equipment and soldering tools
