Job Description:

The L3

Harris Mission Critical Communications sector seeking a highly motivated Engineering Director to lead a cross-functional HW/SW/Quality team responsible for designing industry-leading communications devices for public safety and government customers. This individual will utilize their engineering leadership skills, communications product expertise, and business acumen to ensure the full product line of radio products are developed and maintained to grow market leadership. The responsibilities and duties of this position include but are not limited to:

Essential Functions:

* Leads a geographically diverse, cross-functional product development engineering team with responsibility for the L3

Harris public safety radio product line including handheld and vehicular radios products and accessories.

* Grows an engaged, high performance team that excels at team collaboration, innovation, and agility to respond to customer and business needs.

* Collaborates with Engineering Leadership and Product Line Management to develop product roadmaps, create engineering project plans, solve customer problems, and ensure long-term success in the market.

* Oversees engineering resource planning with responsibility for managing engineering budgets against the approved business plan.

* Oversees engineering development projects and ensures the project teams are delivering to meet customer commitments within the allocated budget and schedule.

* Identifies and drives strategic initiatives to improve the overall performance of the engineering organization.

* Develops and presents comprehensive presentations in a clear and concise manner to internal and external stakeholders.

* Ability to Obtain a US Security Clearance.

Qualifications:

* BS Degree in an engineering discipline with 15 years of relevant experience leading engineering development or MS Degree in an engineering discipline with 13 years of relevant experience leading engineering development.
Preferred Additional

Skills:

* Experience leading both HW and SW product development efforts to successfully deliver against challenging technical and business requirements.

* Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external partners.

* Experience with Land Mobile Radio, Tactical Radio, Cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and other communications technologies.

* Strong technical understanding and experience leading organizational behaviors to ensure quality.

* Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Certification, or strong working knowledge of project management practices. In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role New York state is $152,500 - $283,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
