Manufacturing Engineer, Electronics Engineer
Location: City of Rochester
What can you expect in the role of a Laser Production Engineer?
- Assemble, align, test, and repair advanced laser systems, ensuring on-time delivery and compliance with customer and performance specifications
- Execute and support manufacturing and quality processes, including documented procedures, incoming inspection, QA signoff, and detailed performance data tracking
- Design, calibrate, and troubleshoot test equipment and fixtures, identifying manufacturing issues and contributing to technical solutions
What do you need for this role?
B.S. degree in Physics, Optics/Photonics, or a related scientific discipline, with authorization to work in the U.S.
Hands‑on experience with continuous wave and/or ultrafast laser systems, including optical alignment and testing
Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow documented manufacturing processes and work independently or collaboratively
What would be a plus in this role?Ability to design, set up, and calibrate optical test equipment and lab fixtures
Experience with quality control, inspection, and performance data documentation in a technical manufacturing environment
Strong communication skills, including the ability to train technicians and contribute to process improvements
It’s a plus if you’ve heard of the following terms:Prior work producing, repairing, or reworking optical parametric oscillator (OPO) or similar laser systems
Experience supporting technical manufacturing, process development, or continuous improvement initiatives
Exposure to customer‑facing installations, international collaboration, or technical training travel
Possible salary: $58,000 - $70,000 / year
