Job Description

At Hewitt Young, excellence is our standard. We look for Builders who take ownership, push through challenges, and care about results as much as their craft. When you join our team, you earn your edge every day, and we make sure it pays off.

Role Mission:

The Construction Project Scheduler builds clarity, predictability, and flow across all projects by creating and maintaining accurate schedules that support field execution, resource planning, and financial performance. This role exists to ensure work is sequenced correctly, delays are eliminated early, and teams have the insights needed to deliver projects on time and on budget.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules from kickoff through closeout using HY systems and scheduling software.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers, Foremen, Field Operations, and Procurement to align manpower, materials, subcontractors, and milestones.
  • Review look-ahead schedules to confirm continuity with the baseline and current update to proactively identify risks.
  • Attend project meetings and present schedule status with clear action items, critical path updates, and mitigation strategies.
  • Integrate procurement lead times, submittal durations, inspections, manufacturing windows, and external dependencies into schedule logic.
  • Ensure schedules support forecasting, work in progress tracking, billing, and resource planning.
  • Maintain version control and documentation for all schedule revisions, delays, and approvals.

Must Have

Competencies:

  • Proficiency with scheduling software including Microsoft Project and Primivera.
  • Strong understanding of construction project sequencing, labor planning, and procurement.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to forecast impacts and model scenarios.
  • Professional communication skills, written, verbal, and presentation.
  • Ability to influence and coordinate across departments to drive timely action.
  • High attention to detail.
