Senior Associate, Manufacturing Engineer

Job Title and Details

Manufacturing Engineer (Job Code: 37441) – Rochester, New York – 9/80 schedule (Every other Friday off).

• Perform tasks in a manufacturing and/or prototyping environment.
• Review and provide feedback on electro‑mechanical and opto‑mechanical drawings and designs.
• Translate drawing requirements into detailed work instructions for the assembly, integration, and testing of complex end‑products.
• Coordinate with various disciplines to ensure program schedule milestones are met.
• Own product schedule development – coordinate across disciplines to achieve stakeholder agreement.
• Troubleshoot issues individually and collaboratively to find quick and safe solutions that minimize schedule delays.
• Balance multiple projects and priorities and communicate clearly to operations leadership.
• Maintain accurate records and manufacturing documentation.
• Adhere to established policies, procedures, and proper labor charging practices.
• Be willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and travel as needed.
• Strong communication skills.

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience; graduate degree or equivalent with 0‑2 years of experience; or minimum of 6 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• 0‑4 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing and/or prototyping environment.
• Ability to obtain a federal security clearance.

• Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.
• Familiarity with machinery, machine building, and precision engineering.
• Experience with optical metrology.
• Cables and electronics board experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical builds and tolerances, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

Salary range in New York: $63,500 – $117,500.
