Location & Compensation

THIS PROJECT IS LOCATED IN ROCHESTER, NY. THE RATE OF PAY IS $80,000–$120,000 YEARLY.

Role Overview

As a Senior Mechanical Estimator with The Bell Company, you will be responsible for delivering complete mechanical and plumbing estimates for hospitals, laboratories, large industrial, and institutional projects.

Responsibilities
  • Provide estimates for self‑perform mechanical and plumbing trades on complex industrial, institutional, and health‑care projects.
  • Deliver complete mechanical and plumbing estimates for projects exceeding $10 million.
  • Prepare accurate estimates in Design Build, Design Assist, and Hard Bid formats.
  • Develop comparative estimates based on various design options.
  • Write subcontractor scopes, negotiate pricing, and issue subcontracts.
  • Solicit pricing from vendors and suppliers and negotiate buy‑out pricing and scopes.
  • Mentor junior estimators.
  • Maintain full review, understanding, and quantification of costs and requirements in front‑end specifications and contracts.
  • Manage project controls such as submittals, purchase orders, material take‑offs, and releases.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Demonstrated experience estimating in a hard‑bid market.
  • Experience with HVAC ductwork estimating (beneficial but not required).
  • Ability to develop accurate estimates from schematic design documents.
  • Past work history in self‑perform mechanical and plumbing on industrial, institutional, and health‑care projects.
  • Experience in project controls: submittals, purchase orders, material take‑offs, releases.
Additional Requirements
  • Dedicated, self‑motivated with good verbal and people skills.
  • Stable work history.
  • Able to prioritize and work independently.
  • Pass pre‑employment drug screening.
  • Willing to work all hours and schedules assigned.
  • Willing to relocate for project needs.
