Join our Team as a Energy Solutions Test Engineer
!
We’re looking for a passionate and innovative Energy Solutions Test Engineer who brings technical expertise and a forward‑thinking mindset. In this role, you’ll design and implement new test equipment, methods, and tools, shaping the future of energy solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing- Design and build new test equipment to expand testing capabilities, including creation of related documentation.
- Develop test software (e.g., Lab View) to support emerging test needs and improve automation.
- Set up test systems and development hardware safely and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate test equipment to ensure high‑quality data and repeatable results.
- Partner with engineering teams across ESS to ensure testing strategies align with evolving development programs.
- Support prototype system builds, ensuring parts are assembled accurately on schedule.
- Identify and resolve issues related to batteries, fuel cells, and associated systems.
- Deliver projects on time and contribute to team growth and capability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in testing or validation engineering roles.
- Hands‑on knowledge of data acquisition systems and test instrumentation.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical data and project objectives.
- Comfortable collaborating with colleagues from a range of technical and non‑technical backgrounds.
- Creative problem‑solver who enjoys designing solutions where no template exists—especially for emerging energy storage technologies.
- Strategic mindset that considers not just current testing needs, but how to evolve and scale systems for future projects.
- This is an in‑person role located at our Rochester, New York office, ideal for those who thrive in a hands‑on, team‑oriented environment.
Salary: $83,340 - $135,975 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.
Relocation assistance may be eligible.
