Job Description:

An experienced Facilities Project Manager with deep knowledge of the job area and practical expertise in project management. Responsible for managing projects and processes while planning, designing, and overseeing the reconfiguration, maintenance, construction, and modification of equipment, machinery, buildings, structures, and other facilities. Responsibilities include gathering and analyzing data related to facility and equipment specifications, regulatory requirements, completion schedules, and execution feasibility.

Regularly communicate with internal and external partners to interpret and clarify operational processes, practices, and procedures. Recommend improvements to systems and processes to support operational targets for key programs and projects. Collaborate with architecture and engineering firms to develop design criteria and prepare detailed layouts and drawings. Prepare bid sheets, project justifications, statements of work, and contracts for construction and facility acquisitions.

Review and estimate design costs including equipment, installation, labor, materials, preparation, and related expenditures. Oversee construction and installation activities to ensure adherence to established drawings, specifications, budgets, and schedules. Provide guidance, coaching, and training to team members within the job area as needed.

Essential Functions:

• Provide construction management, architectural design, and code compliance support in the L3

Harris Facilities Management group

• Coordinate work of contractors and interface with customers to accommodate program requirements

• Typical projects include building renovations, capital infrastructure improvements, equipment installations, and associated site work to support the relocation or expansion of personnel and assets in support of changing business needs

• Responsible for all phases of project management including evaluation of requirements, estimating, scheduling, budget management, design oversight, construction management, and project closeout

• Role is customer-focused, metric-driven, and has an expectation of value engineering, process efficiencies, and cost improvements

• Utilizes e3, the L3

Harris business operating system, to deliver continuous improvement and operational excellence to all aspects of the department

• Manage several projects at one time, having sole responsibility for large to small projects and supporting additional projects as a team member, engineering, or construction management resource

• Work in a diverse and changing environment supporting many internal and external customers simultaneously

• Work closely with Facilities Maintenance and Operations teams

• Support the development of capital and expense budgets for the corporation

• Ability to obtain US Government security clearance

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience;
Or, Graduate degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience;
Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience Preferred Additional

Skills:

• Experience in facilitating the design and project execution of architectural, electrical, and HVAC systems
