The Opportunity
Tetra Tech is adding a Junior Civil Engineer to support energy transition projects throughout Upstate New York and surrounding regions. The successful candidate will support multiple projects with a focus on stormwater management, grading design, construction oversight, and renewable energy development, including solar and battery energy storage projects.

Essential Job Functions- Support engineering design for renewable energy projects, solar and battery energy storage systems (BESS), and civil/site development projects.
- Perform construction monitoring activities.
- Conduct stormwater compliance inspections.
- Assist with stormwater management and grading design efforts.
- Support project teams with technical documentation and project coordination.
- Participate in limited client communications and coordination efforts.
- Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
- Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
- Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
- 1‑4 years of professional experience.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
- Familiarity with ArcGIS.
- Experience with stormwater management and inspections, construction oversight, and site development projects.
- Previous experience supporting solar energy projects, battery energy storage projects, or renewable energy development in New York State.
- Familiarity with electrical infrastructure projects, environmental investigation/remediation, and environmental due diligence projects.
- Ability to perform occasional fieldwork and construction site visits.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions as needed.
- Combination of office and field‑based work.
- Collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering and environmental teams.
- Occasional travel to project and construction sites throughout New York State and surrounding areas.
Pre‑employment drug screening is required in compliance with federal regulations. A physical assessment may be conducted if needed.

Pay commensurate with experience.
Pay Range: $65,000–$75,000 annually.
