Job DescriptionThe Product Integration Group of L3
Harris in Rochester, New York, is looking for an Experienced Electrical Technician. This position will perform a variety of operations including the assembly and integration of complex electromechanical space flight components. This role involves working directly with engineers on the design and development of new and existing products to optimize design for manufacturability. Needs to be proficient in cable and harness builds, as well as soldering of components.
Functions
- Perform work in manufacturing and/or prototyping environment
- Read engineering drawings/blueprints/schematics and detailed work instructions
- Maintain accurate records and manufacturing documentation
- Speak clearly and concisely, presenting ideas effectively to individuals or groups
- Identify problems and suggest solutions
- Demonstrate appropriate computer knowledge
- Understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and proper labor charging practices
- Perform as an individual contributor as well as within a team environment
- Must be mechanically inclined with ability to work with very fragile electronic assemblies under a microscope
- Willingness to work overtime, shift work, weekends, holidays and some travel
- Ability to obtain US Government security clearance
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience;
Or, a 2 years post-Secondary/Associate’s Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience - Must be able to be certified to all IPC, JSTD, or comparable NASA certifications
- Associate's Degree or above in electronics/electrical field
- Experience in an Electrical/Mechanical/Optical discipline
- Currently certified to IPC, JSTD, or comparable NASA certifications
- Lean Manufacturing practices
- Aerospace or Defense industry experience
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $45,000-$84,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. L3
