ResponsibilitiesMajor areas of responsibility include:
- Performing their own calibration work with little to no supervision
- Explaining calibration issues and processes to customers when needed
- Coordinating and managing daily workloads without direction from manager
- Conducting calibration work at customer onsites with little to no supervision
- Identifying and utilizing appropriate measurement techniques and designing budgets
- Having clear comprehension of uncertainties
- Maintaining calibration standards
- Performing functions within a laboratory or customer onsite setting
- Gathering and processing data review when necessary
- Traveling up to 50% of designated work schedule
Primary objective s include:
- Training and developing fellow technicians in a management role
- Coordinating work schedule for the lab
- Developing and implementing process improvements
- Providing detailed analysis of calibration processes and uncertainties
- Developing and producing budgets
- Developing and producing data reviews
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include:
- Full experience in at least two disciplines or advanced understanding of multiple disciplines
- Extensive statistical background preferred
- Familiarity with complex tools and equipment
- Ability to work with and understand new equipment
- Advanced proficiency with office computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Advanced organizational and time management skills
- Elite interpersonal skills when interacting with customers
- Position will include team lead and managerial responsibilities
- Candidates with experience in PMEL, PME, TMDE, Metrology, Calibration, ASQ CCT, METCAL, GPETE, Electronics, GCAMS, or Avionics highly desired
Education and experience include:
- Associates degree (A.
A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school - 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- PMEL or TMDE training + military experience in the calibration field plus 2+ years civilian experience preferred
- Senior calibration technicians will be required to pass the ASQ CCT

Hourly rate ranges from $19/hr-$35 depending on level of experience.
