Location: City of Rochester

Project Manager – Land Development | Rochester, NY

Experienced civil engineering professional with expertise in managing land development projects from concept through construction. Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, oversee site design efforts, and coordinate project delivery while maintaining schedules, budgets, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage land development and site development projects from planning through construction.
  • Lead and mentor junior engineering staff while coordinating project workloads and deliverables.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of site plans, grading plans, utility plans, construction details, and conceptual layouts.
  • Develop stormwater management solutions and prepare associated permitting and compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate with clients, architects, MEP consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare proposals, scopes of work, fee estimates, and project documentation.
  • Attend project meetings, public presentations, and agency review sessions as needed.
  • Monitor project budgets, schedules, invoicing, and resource allocation.
  • Support permitting, entitlement, and agency approval processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 8+ Years of experience in Land Development.
  • Significant experience in land development design within a consulting environment.
  • Strong background in site development, grading, utilities, stormwater management, and permitting.
  • Demonstrated project management experience with responsibility for budgets, schedules, and team coordination.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in NY.
  • Experience with civil engineering design software and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling tools preferred.
