Location: City of Rochester

We're partnering with an established manufacturer seeking a hands-on Lead Manufacturing Engineer to join its engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys leading projects, improving manufacturing operations, mentoring others, and driving continuous improvement in a fast-paced production environment. This role combines technical leadership with project execution and offers the opportunity to influence manufacturing performance while working cross-functionally with operations, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities
  • Lead manufacturing engineering projects from concept through implementation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Manage capital equipment projects including equipment selection, installation, startup, and optimization.
  • Support manufacturing process improvements through equipment upgrades, automation, and process enhancements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support new product introductions and manufacturing improvements.
  • Collaborate with equipment suppliers to develop specifications, evaluate solutions, and support equipment implementation.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor Manufacturing Engineers while helping prioritize engineering activities.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and develop practical, long-term solutions that improve operational performance.
  • Develop engineering documentation, procedures, and training materials to support successful project execution.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, manufacturing throughput, and overall operational effectiveness.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Manufacturing Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading capital equipment or manufacturing improvement projects.
  • Strong background supporting automated manufacturing equipment and production processes a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects while working effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience mentoring engineers or providing technical leadership is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
