We’re seeking a Senior Opto‑Mechanical Engineer Analyst who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges while seeing their designs evolve from concept through production. This is a highly visible technical role where you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop precision optical assemblies used in mission‑critical applications.

- Lead or support the design of precision opto‑mechanical assemblies using Solid Works.
- Integrate optical components into precision mechanical systems while maintaining optical performance requirements.
- Perform structural and thermal simulations using ANSYS, NASTRAN, or similar FEA tools.
- Interpret Structural, Thermal, Optical Performance (STOP) analysis results to optimize designs.
- Develop thermal models for advanced imaging and semiconductor applications.
- Design tooling and fixtures supporting assembly and environmental testing.
- Present engineering concepts and design reviews directly to customers.
- Support prototype builds and transition products into manufacturing.
- Collaborate across Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, Optical Engineering, and Metrology throughout product development.
- Assist with supplier selection and component evaluation.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Five or more years of experience in opto‑mechanical design and analysis.
- Advanced proficiency using Solid Works.
- Experience performing FEA using ANSYS, NASTRAN, or similar software.
- Strong understanding of thermal analysis and structural simulation.
- Knowledge of Structural, Thermal, Optical Performance (STOP) principles.
- Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
- Direct experience performing STOP analyses.
- Knowledge of Zemax Optic Studio.
- Understanding of ISO 10110 optical drawings and optical tolerancing.
- Experience with environmental qualification testing (thermal vacuum, vibration, etc.).
- Low‑stress optical mounting and bonding experience.
- Technical leadership or program lead experience.
This individual will become a key contributor on highly visible engineering programs, helping develop sophisticated optical systems while working alongside some of the industry's brightest engineers. The ideal candidate enjoys balancing analytical engineering with practical product development and wants to see their work move from concept into production.
