Harris is looking for a Test Engineer in the Vibration Lab. This role provides engineering services to a variety of technical problems of large scope and complexity associated with the design and test of highly complex optical sensing spaceflight hardware. The engineer will develop and execute test plans and procedures based on technical standards, principles, theories, and concepts. Testing may include vibration, shock, acoustic, modal, or static load testing, and the engineer may take on future functional leadership opportunities and/or proficiency with conducting shaker testing.
Functions
- Design, develop, and execute complex Vibration, Modal, and/or Static Load tests
- Analyze dynamic test requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints
- Physically configure designed test instrumentation and troubleshoot anomalies
- Work independently with limited supervision once acclimated to the role
- Support multiple projects in various stages of readiness
- Communicate effectively in written and verbal form within and outside the function
- Develop and execute procedures and document results
- Work overtime, shift work (nights), extended shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Work in a clean room environment, including full clean room suits when required
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of relevant experience; or Graduate Degree and minimum 4 years of prior related experience; or in lieu of a degree, minimum 10 years of prior related experience.
- Ability to obtain security clearance
- Active security clearance:
Top Secret / SCI with polygraph - Experience with high reliability aerospace products test and verification
- Experience with Aero Pro Flex Test, FlexDAQ systems
- Experience with Data Physics or Siemens software
- Experience with vibration control systems
- Experience working in a clean room environment with electrostatic considerations for sensitive hardware
- Experience as a functional team leader or integrated product team lead
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York state is $88,500 - $164,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on experience and geographic location. L3
