Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Process Engineer
AtRe:
Build, our mission is to ensure the next generation of important products are made, at scale, in America. We are laying the foundation for a better future for our customers, employees, and communities by revitalizing America's manufacturing base and creating meaningful jobs across the country, including in historically deindustrialized regions.
We operate an advanced, end-to-end manufacturing platform that partners with industrial companies and innovators to take products from first concept to full-scale production in critical verticals including aerospace and defense, electrification, medical, energy and environment, and robotics and automation.
The way we operate is as important as the work we do. It's guided by The Re:
Build Way, 16 principles that shape how we collaborate with each other, partner with our customers and vendors, and contribute to the communities where we operate. (link to The Re:Build Way principles )

You are an experienced designer who turns complex process and mechanical challenges into buildable solutions. With a strong foundation in industrial or engineering-services design, you're comfortable taking skid-based, modular, and containerized systems from concept through detailing and release—applying sound judgment and seeking guidance from senior team members when needed.
You communicate clearly, collaborate easily across mechanical, structural, electrical, controls, fabrication, and field service teams, and work just as optimally on your own. Above all, you bring a genuine commitment to safety and quality across office, shop, and client‑site environments. This role is based in Rochester and Rush, NY, with occasional travel (typically under 25%).
What You Get To Do- Design industrial process and mechanical systems—especially skid-based and modular equipment—from concept through detailed design and release.
- Solve moderately complex technical problems using sound engineering judgment.
- Develop and review key deliverables, including requirements documents, general arrangement drawings, equipment layouts, and piping layouts and details.
- Perform simulation, analysis, and validation of components and integrated systems.
- Contribute to internal and client‑facing design reviews and support proposal and estimating activities .
- Support fabrication teams to ensure designs are manufacturable, and coordinate across engineering disciplines and field service for a smooth handoff to build and deployment .
- Support continuous improvement efforts that enhance design processes, tools, and standards .
Required
- 5+ years of process and/or mechanical design experience in an industrial or engineering-services environment.
- Strong design skills in AutoCAD (2D/3D) and Solid Works
6. - Experience with design analysis, simulation, and gathering and documenting technical requirements.
