Senior Specialist, Power Supply Design Engineer

As a Senior Specialist, Power Supply Design Engineer your roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Support power supply hardware design and development of DC-DC and AC-DC, including 3-phase and single-phase, topologies for applications with power consumption ranging from 50W to 2kW.
  • Design and develop circuitry and PWB layouts for power supply development supporting ruggedized radios and accessories.
  • Lead projects within power supply design and influence collaborative efforts across the engineering organization.
  • Develop schematics and layouts, including rigid and rigid-flex designs.
  • Perform simulation and analysis on power supply circuitry.
  • Perform bring-up and integration at board and system levels.
  • Perform subsystem and system-level verification and validation testing.
  • Develop and implement validation test plans.
  • Participate as a member of a cross-functional development team throughout the integrated product development lifecycle.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring of engineering resources as required.
  • Obtain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.

Most importantly, you need to be a passionate Senior Specialist, Power Supply Design Engineer who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Senior Specialist, Power Supply Design Engineer would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience in power supply design, including simulation and analysis.
  • 3+ years of experience with schematic capture tool usage, with DxDesigner and PADS preferred.
  • Experience with DC-DC and AC-DC analog and digital power converters.
  • Experience with power supply design, simulation, and analysis.
  • Experience with rigid and rigid-flex PWB layouts.
  • Experience with isolated converter topologies and design principles, including PFC.
  • Experience with power supply simulation tools such as LTSPICE and MATLAB.
  • Experience designing and evaluating power supplies for compliance with MIL-STD-704 or MIL-STD-1275.
  • Knowledge of EMI design and test techniques for conducted and radiated emissions/susceptibility under MIL-STD-461.
  • Experience with continuous improvement techniques for manufacturing.
  • Experience with Configuration Management software, with Agile preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.
