JOBSUMMARY
The Estimator is responsible for preparing portions of estimates for one or more disciplines.
REPORTS TODirector of Project Development
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Reviews specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Prepares estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope.
- Previews design options and recommend best solution based on cost, engineering quality, and availability of materials. Administrative
- Maintain files of working documents as back‑up for estimate figures, including current/accurate information on prices from suppliers through direct contact, sales brochures and price lists.
- Monitors computer estimating database and presents any proposed changes to the Chief Estimator.
- Works with Project Management team to review and reconcile estimates and budgets with architects, engineers, owners which is led by the assigned Campus CMG Project Manager
- Maintains estimate schedule for current and future Campus CMG projects
- Support business development through customer service, lead generation, presentations, community activities and/or service organizations.
- Supports other department personnel, as required. Duties may include preparing estimates in other disciplines.
- Accomplishes all other duties and tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
- A demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of five (5) years estimating, controls, and/or engineering experience or an equivalent combination of related work experience, training and/or education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
- Advanced knowledge of discipline, estimating techniques, and cost control.
- Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
