Description

Salary Range: $28.50 – 32.75

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

The Mortgage Closer is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of closing documents. This individual serves as a key liaison between internal departments, title companies/settlement agents, attorneys, and borrowers to facilitate a smooth and compliant loan closing process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Prepare and review closing disclosures and closing documents in accordance with company policy and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure all conditions of loan approval have been satisfied prior to closing, including verifications of employment.
  • Prepares attorney guidelines and sends to settlement agent.
  • Prepares sale and funding settlement sheets for Accounting.
  • Prepares and delivers the final Closing Disclosure to the borrower.
  • Prepares and delivers closing documents to the bank attorney for closing.
  • Works with settlement agent and borrower to schedule loan closing. Reviews all documents for compliance, completeness and accuracy.
  • Works with Relationship Managers and/or retail team to schedule closings. Reviews all documents for compliance, completeness and accuracy.
  • Prepares and delivers closing documents to the Relationship Managers for closing.
  • Completes post-closing and onboarding for HELOCs.
  • Assists with retail loan closings as needed.
  • Collaborate with processors, underwriters, loan officers, and post-closing team members to ensure file accuracy and completeness.
  • Utilize Encompass to communicate effectively, advance loans through the process and maintain accurate and timely information on each loan.
  • Maintain knowledge of investor and regulatory requirements.
  • Actively participate in demonstrating the behaviors outlined in The GRB VIP Program
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or equivalent (Associate degree highly preferred) or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • A minimum of 2 years’ residential mortgage Processing or Closing experience strongly preferred

  • Ability to read, write and speak English and Spanish fluently.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands or fingers, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
