Vendor Services Analyst

Overview

Join Starr, a global leader in commercial insurance, and support the Vendor Services team within Procurement. This role focuses on the evaluation of vendor partners, onboarding, and review of employee expense reports. The group manages vendor verification, onboarding, and expense review, and works to develop and enhance internal procedures and modern risk assessment methodologies.

• Support vendor verification procedures to ensure new or adjusted vendors meet Starr requirements and expectations.
• Onboard approved vendors to the appropriate Starr platforms.
• Detect potential fraud as part of the organization’s risk mitigation efforts.
• Contribute to the development of a globalized approach for reviewing T&E expenses.
• Review all expense reports submitted for payment to employees or allocated to the corporate card.
• Lead training for employees, either in groups or individually.
• Serve as a member of a centralized helpdesk for user inquiries related to vendor verification and expenses.
• Collaborate with the Corporate Travel manager to improve the T&E end-user experience.
• Ensure expense reporting occurs timely for proper accounting and allocation.
• Monitor employee spend trends to safeguard against financial and fraud-related risks.
• Assist with communication of internal process enhancements and continuous SOP improvements.
• Input supplier data into Finance ERP and Claims systems; verify vendor bank account/payee information.
• Troubleshoot user issues and provide cross-training on Vendor Services responsibilities.
• Contribute to internal playbooks and process improvements to enhance user experience or automate compliance review against T&E policy.
• Suggest system audit rules to minimize misuse and reduce unnecessary spending; review T&E policy against spending trends.
• Track, collect, and deposit employee checks for personal corporate card usage as applicable.

• Knowledge of Concur T&E platform and Workday Finance is preferred.
• 2 or more years of experience in a vendor services role preferred.
• Proficiency in speaking and reading Spanish is a plus.
• Experience in accounting/audit, fraud detection, or general ledger/AP workflow technology is a plus.
• Advanced MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); advanced Excel is a plus.
• Basic understanding of entities within a typical property & casualty insurance carrier and their role within the organization.
• Strong service mindset for internal stakeholders and effective communication skills (oral and written).
• Problem solving, sound judgment, decisiveness, collaboration, and ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
• Ability to cope with pressure and provide a professional, positive approach.
