Massage Therapist

Pay Range: $22.00-$28.00 (Pay information will vary depending upon relevant experience for the position)
Part Time 20 hours

GENERAL SCOPE: Plans, develops, implements and evaluates a comprehensive program of Compassionate Touch, practiced through Reflexology, Eastern, Swedish, Deep Tissue and Cranial Sacral Therapies for residents/registrants of the Jewish Home of Rochester and the outpatient clients at the Atkin Center for Services.

QUALIFICATION:

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION: Graduate of an approved Massage Therapy program. Must have current licensure to practice Massage Therapy in New York State.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Examines and interprets medical records.
• Provides appropriate documentation to Medical Records
• Assesses resident/registrant needs
• Develops and implements individual interventions.
• Documents attendance
• Follows established safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Monitors for resident/registrant safety at all times.
• Maintains treatment area in a clean and safe manner for resident /registrant comforts and convenience by assuring that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained to perform such duties/services.
• Maintains the confidentiality off all resident/registrant care information
• Abides by the resident/registrant decision whether or not to participate in treatment.
• Attends and participates in workshops and seminars to maintain a professional stature.
• Performs other duties as necessary for the effective operation of the department.
• Follows established infection control procedures.
• Reports hazardous conditions or equipment.
• All other job duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE: Knowledge relative to the practice of Massage Therapy. Basic familiarity with equipment used in the practice of Massage Therapy and its operation
