Position Summary InformationNazareth University invites applications for a full-time, 10.5-month Clinical Assistant Professor position beginning August 2026. This faculty member will serve as the Clinic Manager for the Neurogenic Cognition and Communication Clinic (NC3), which provides speech, language, and cognitive services for adults with a wide range of neurological conditions. Clients in the NC3 participate in meaningful, functional activities designed to help them reach their educational, vocational, and recreational potential;
services are provided by graduate students in Nazareth speech-language pathology program under the direct supervision of fully licensed and credentialed clinical educators.
The Clinic Manager will oversee all aspects of clinic operations, including supervision and mentoring of clinical educators, coordination of client scheduling, and collaboration with interprofessional clinics and partners. Additional responsibilities include designing and delivering innovative, evidence-based programs; maintaining high-quality client care; and contributing to department-wide clinical operations and initiatives. In addition to clinic management, this position includes clinical education (supervision) and teaching.
Clinical education is provided in accordance with ASHA standards and includes direct supervision of both therapy and diagnostic services. Clinical faculty are assigned undergraduate or graduate teaching duties aligned with their credentials, clinical expertise, and qualifications.
Clinical faculty participate in department meetings and contribute to departmental service activities. This includes assisting with the development and implementation of academic and clinical programs that support the mission and strategic goals of the department. Clinical faculty provide service to the University and the broader professional community through engagement in committees, professional development, outreach, and advocacy.
The Nazareth CSD Department comprises undergraduate and graduate programs, with graduate specialties in autism, deafness, early intervention, bilingual, and medical speech-language pathology. Graduate students can also earn the New York State Teacher of Students with Disabilities (TSSLD) certificate and Bilingual Education (Spanish) extension. The department has 200+ students (85 graduate students) and 11 FT faculty. Interprofessional collaboration and education are hallmarks of Nazareth University.
Our on-campus clinics are located in the state-of-the-art York Wellness and Rehabilitation Institute, a facility that also houses physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work, and creative arts therapy clinics, in addition to our own Speech-Language Clinic, Neurogenic Communication and Cognition Clinic (NC3), and Audiology Clinic. Our many active on- and off-campus clinics provide opportunities for clinical supervision and clinically applied research endeavors.
Functions Required Education, Experience, Technology and Skills
- Master's degree from an accredited CSD/SLP program
- Current ASHA certification in SLP (CCC-SLP); must have completed at least 2 hours of professional development in clinical instruction/supervision per ASHA guidelines.
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as an SLP in the New York State
- Five years of clinical experience providing speech-language pathology services to adults with neurogenic communication disorders in medical or rehabilitation settings
- Two years clinical education/supervision experience
- Experience working as part of an Interprofessional team
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Leadership and/or mentorship experience in the clinical or school setting
- Previous clinical education and/or academic teaching experience
- Minimum of five years of clinical experience
