Salary Range: $51,500 - $78,000. Pay within this range is based on experience and education.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Sensitivity to cultural diversity of others
- Provides developmentally appropriate communication and feeding programs through individual or small group therapy sessions, including necessary lifting, moving, and positioning as per agency guidelines
- Develops receptive and expressive language programming to meet student needs in classroom settings
- Evaluates and implements augmentative communication systems within daily programming
- Provides ongoing consultation, support, and training for teachers and assistants in carrying out therapy suggestions and programs
- Evaluates developmental skill levels in speech, language, and social development based on formalized/informal assessments
- Collaborates with parents to ensure carryover of home programming for language and communication needs
- Participates on interdisciplinary teams to provide diagnostic evaluations and establish therapeutic goals and habilitative program recommendations
- Works with the social worker to align interdisciplinary team goals for each child
- Maintains accurate records and reports on progress to appropriate staff
- Understands the psychological and medical characteristics of the population served
- Makes referrals to other professionals as needed to improve student programming
- Evaluates and implements individualized programs for students with oral-motor/feeding concerns
- Attends discipline-related meetings and in-service sessions as required
- Provides supervisory and didactic support for students pursuing therapy careers when appropriate
- Participates in agency functions and community meetings
- Contributes to agency committees related to speech pathology as assigned
- Other duties may be assigned
Education and/or
Experience:
Master’s degree (M.A./M.S.) in Speech Pathology; NYS license required, ASHA certification (CCC) preferred, and two (2) to four (4) years related experience and/or training
Language
Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional materials; ability to write reports and communicate effectively
Mathematical
Skills:
Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts as needed for evaluation and reporting
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: ASHA Certification, NYS License, and Teaching Certificate
Physical Demands: Regular walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and other physical activities as described in job postings
