About the Organization CP Rochester and Happiness House are private nonprofit health, educational, residential and human service organizations that have been serving communities in the Finger Lakes Region since 1969 and the Greater Rochester Area since 1946. Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist – Part Time

Location: CP Rochester – Winton Road, Rochester, NY

Salary: $29.60 - $37.50 per hour, commensurate with experience

Employment: This is a part-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during business hours. Evening work may be required as job duties demand.

Summary/Objective: Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of speech and/or language disorders of the individuals enrolled in or referred to CP.

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
• New York State License in Speech Pathology or be eligible for a New York State License in Speech Pathology.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association preferred.
• Current knowledge of the principles and methods of prevention, assessment, and intervention for people with communication and swallowing disorders, including consideration of anatomical/physiological, psychological, developmental, and linguistic and cultural correlates.
• Experience working with individuals with development disabilities preferred.
• Must have demonstrated excellent listening skills.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License.
• Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
• Must have demonstrated commitment to performing job duties and tasks at a high level of performance.

• Promotes the CP Rochester and the Happiness House Vision, Mission and Philosophy.
• Upholds NYS Education Law/Practice Act as relating to the practice of speech therapy.
• Maintains confidentiality of information relating to individuals and their families in accordance with agency policy.
• Performs appropriate evaluations to individuals to determine the need for speech therapy services.
• Ensures valid prescriptions are written for all individuals on caseload.
• Carries out treatment plans developed after evaluation, in clinic setting for the Article 16 and Article 28 outpatient clinics as well as the Preschool or School Programs, as necessary.
