Location: City of Rochester

Med-Scribe, Inc. is a staffing agency that has been recruiting top talent within the healthcare Industry for over 35 years! We are a small, local company, dedicated to matching candidates to the right opportunities!

We have partnered with a reputable Ophthalmology practice to recruit an Ophthalmic Technician who will work closely with physicians to deliver exceptional patient care! This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity located in both their Rochester and Canandaigua offices.

In this role, you will help perform diagnostic testing, assist with procedures, and gain hands on experience using state of the art imaging and diagnostic technology.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Ophthalmic Technician who is looking to take their skills to the next level by learning and specializing in an advanced area of eye care!

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct preliminary patient assessments and collect detailed medical histories.
  • Perform advanced diagnostic testing, including imaging and visual field exams.
  • Prepare for and assist with in-office procedures, ensuring safety and comfort for patients.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, procedures, and home care.
  • Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic equipment to ensure accuracy.
  • Accurately document findings and procedures in the EMR system.

Schedule: 8‑hour shift between 7:30AM-5:00PM

Location: Rochester (primary location) and Canandaigua (only on Mondays to start)

Qualifications
  • High school diploma required; associate’s degree or ophthalmic technology coursework preferred.
  • Certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) preferred.
  • Prior experience as an Ophthalmic Technician required; experience in specialized testing or imaging a plus.
