UR - Day (United States of America). Range: UR URG 107 H. Compensation: $23.06 - $32.29 per hour.

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries or hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

With minimum direction and considerable latitude for independent judgement, the Simulation Technician is responsible for maintaining the simulation, lab, and experiential learning spaces with the School of Nursing Experiential Learning Center (ELC) and supporting the initiatives and goals as defined by the Director & Assistant Director of Simulation. Duties include running high-fidelity human patient simulators, overseeing standardized patients, assisting with VR simulations, coordinating a variety of key support functions for the daily operation of the simulation, skills lab, and experiential learning areas, including supporting faculty during simulation and lab sessions.

This will include assisting as directed with simulation support in collaboration with SMD and Dept of Anesthesiology.

This person will make every effort to accommodate customer requests promptly and professionally. They will have exceptional customer service, organizational, and multi‑tasking skills. They will work under general direction with latitude for initiative and judgment.

Hours will be variable but will include Saturdays and early evening hours.

• Assists team members and supports instructors during course activities, including on‑the‑fly changes to scenarios and setups as required.
• Provides on‑site preparation and assistance to Standardized Patients during simulation events and Objective Structured Clinical Examinations.
• Coordinates lab equipment and activities, ensuring smooth setup and takedown of medical equipment and supplies essential to scenarios of varying complexity.
• Assists students and faculty with virtual reality simulations, both in headset and on laptops.

• Prepares simulation scenario supplies, props, and room equipment in alignment with faculty and course objectives. Responsible for startup and shutdown of simulation equipment, including adding and removing moulage to manikins as needed.
• Operates high‑fidelity human patient simulators using formalized scripting and cues.
• Oversees recording of simulation events and troubleshoots technical issues as needed. Provides technical support and consultation to faculty for patient simulators, associated computers, software, and medical technology.

• Ensures safe use of equipment by students, educators, and external users. Demonstrates proper operation of simulation equipment and technology to all users.
• Provides technical assistance before, during, and after labs to ensure proper functionality and alignment with course objectives.

• Maintains a simulation scenario case library for use and provides on‑the‑fly adjustments to scenarios as required.
• Ensures all resources, inventory, and setups are optimized for effective simulation experiences. Keeps rooms fully stocked with supplies relevant to scenarios and supports faculty in achieving course objectives.
