- Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- New York State Radiologic Technologist license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- BLS (American Heart Association only)
- Minimum 2 years of X-ray / radiologic technologist experience
- Minimum 1 year experience in a children’s hospital or pediatric radiology setting
- Minimum 1 year experience in a Level 1 trauma center preferred
- Experience with pediatric fluoroscopy exams (UGI, VCUG, Barium Enema) and NICU portable X-rays strongly preferred
- Familiarity with PACS, electronic health records (EHR), and radiology information systems
- Understanding of radiation safety and ALARA principles
- Ability to move or lift patients and stand for extended periods
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; compassionate, patient-centered approach
- Application requirement: Please include a skills checklist noting pediatric fluoroscopy, NICU portable X-rays, PACS experience, and any modality certifications
- Verify patient identity and review provider orders prior to imaging procedures following dual-identifier standards
- Perform pediatric X-ray and radiographic exams, producing high-quality diagnostic images for radiologist interpretation
- Explain procedures to pediatric patients and families in an age-appropriate, reassuring manner
- Position patients accurately and safely, including assisting those with limited mobility
- Operate radiologic and fluoroscopic equipment safely, maintaining radiation dose as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA)
- Observe patient status and adapt care to age-specific needs, including NICU and pediatric trauma as assigned
- Ensure accurate patient records and correct image identification; transmit studies to PACS in a timely manner
- Utilize electronic patient information systems to confirm exam details and special instructions
- Promptly report equipment issues, participate in quality assurance, and support a collaborative, team-oriented pediatric radiology environment
